This weekend, September 30 – October 2, if you happen to find yourself at the Santa Clarita Valley Comic Con, make sure you stop at my table to say hello and drop a fat wad of cash on my offerings of various merchandise! And, because every good post needs a picture, heres a cute fairy I drew!
If sagacious words of comic making wisdom is what you want from me, this weekend will offer a bountiful bonanza of Timony soundbites, as I’ll be participating in three panel discussions, detailed below:
Saturday at 2:00PM — What it takes to be a Comics Artist – Can you create terrific comic book art, but aren’t sure about the next steps to pursue a career in comics? This is your chance to get your questions answered by the professionals. We’re here to help. Join moderator Jim Higgins, artist JD Correa, and me to learn about networking, conventions, scheduling, contracts, creator rights, working with editors and other valuable information.
Sunday at 2:00PM — Character Design – In this panel, moderated by Jim Higgins, we’ll be talking about character design. What makes for good character design? Can the design of a character reveal their personality or inform the story? Lets discuss.
Sunday at 4:00PM — Monster Elementary – Join Gwendolyn Dreyer, Nick Doan, myself, and probably a few other artists as we talk about Monster Elementary! We’ll talk about the first book, the brand new book, our experiences kickstarting it and finding a publisher! We’ll probably pepper it with fun anecdotes as well.
I’ve got a lot to talk about, and a bunch of cool things to show you. Come join me, won’t you?
